Happy New Year everyone!
I wanted to make and share a washcloth pattern for '10. It's sized perfectly to wrap around a fragrant or hand-made soap bar. If I can find time this week I'll make some soap and brighten a friend's day with this little gift. I'm currently working on so many different things I don't know what to finish first. One of my New Year's resolutions this year is to blog and post pictures everyday. Another is to finish everything I start. I'd love to hear some of yours!
2010 New Year's Washcloth:
Finished Measurements : Approx. 4"x8½"
Materials: 1 ball Lily Sugar'n Cream Solid
US #3/3.25mm needles*
Tapestry Needle
*I used a smaller needle size to obtain denser fabric and to make the picture stand out more.

I'm almost finished with a new set of Dessert Cloths. I can't wait to publish and make them available. I'm also going to start a free KrisKnits' Monthly KAL (Knit-Along) starting this week. Every month will feature a full-size themed picture dishcloth. I'll post more about it tomorrow and hopefully get the first couple rows up for everyone to start together.
Happy Knitting!
I am very excited about the KAL and will definitely participate! I really like the 2010 cloth too. One of my goals for this year is to knit at least one dishcloth per week. I also cross stitch and hope to stitch at least one ornament per month. I love your patterns and have started to purchase them so I hope to complete my collection by the end of the year too =)

Hello... I love the cloth! Thank you! And I'm very excited about the KAL.
ReplyDeleteI made the 2010 cloth yesterday, using the written directions, and noticed the chart is different than the directions. On the chart, the top and bottom of the insides of the "0s" have two centered stocking stitches instead of one. It appears in your photos that you only have one centered stocking stitch inside the tops of the "0s" of your knitted sample, which is how my cloth came out using the written directions. I was just wondering about this discrepancy. I like to use both the chart and the written directions, so I thought I'd ask, in case you published a trial chart instead of the final chart.
As usual, I love your work, and thank you very much!

I've always done that I cord thing for all my washcloths, it's great. This is a cute pattern, as always, thanks so much for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteI finished the KAL as far as I could & wanted to knit more, found the 2010 cloth. I'm new to this but was wondering if on row 6 you should end with a K, not a P? This is great fun & your directions are easy to follow & the patterns are great. Thank you for doing this.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the pattern. Do you mind sharing what program you used to make the chart???
ReplyDeleteI love the 2010 - this is a really cool pattern! I made this today, it came out super cute. But when I was binding off I ended on the
ReplyDelete"0" side (right) not the "2" side (left) and I wanted the loop on the left like you have it - what did I do wrong? Thanks----
