Did Someone Say Fudge?

I made this for the family last week and it was such a huge hit. I don't think there could ever be too much of this to go around. I found this recipe in one of my Mother's filing cabinets and it brought back great memories. It was always a wonderful treat. Staying true to the recipe it was as delicious and addicting as I could remember.

Oreo Cream Fudge:

Prep Time: 15 min
Cook/Set Time: 1
½ hours
Yields: 60 servings

Ingredients:
  • 13x9" pan and enough foil to line
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 (7 ounce) jar marshmallow fluff
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup Oreo cookies, finely crushed
  • 1 cup Oreo cookies, crumbled

Directions:

  1. Line 13x9" pan with foil and butter the foil.
  2. Combine sugar, butter, milk in medium saucepan over medium high heat.
  3. Bring mixture to a full rolling boil; stirring constantly. Boil for 3 minutes and remove from heat.
  4. Stir in white chocolate morsels, marshmallow cream, finely crushed cookies, and vanilla until melted and well blended.
  5. Pour evenly into prepared pan.
  6. Sprinkle crumbled Oreos over hot mixture and lightly press down or gently swirl into fudge with knife if desired.
  7. Refrigerate until firm. Lift foil from pan and remove from fudge. Cut fudge into squares.

  3. The fudge sounds devine. I have a question tho, do you crush the whole cookie including the middle frosting, or just the cookie? It'll make a yummy treat as a gift.
I'm also looking forward to finishing this mystery KAL. Does it have a name? Thanks for everything!

  4. Hi Carol! I was questioning the very same thing before I made it, but I ended up using the entire cookie including the creme centers. When crushed it didn't make much of a difference.

  5. Thanks Kris. When I do my grocery shopping this weekend, I'll be sure to gather all the ingredients. I'm going to make it for the staff at school for "Teacher Appreciation Day". Thanks again for all your hard work.

  21. The assumption must be that there isn't going to be a May KAL?? While we understand Kris is a busy mother of two children, setting up a Monthly KAL and asking people to join in does bring some responsibility, too. She is a great pattern designer, but commitment to followers is also important if one asks for a commitment from them to join in.

  23. To anonymous: You are a very rude and demanding person. Go ahead and BLAH BLAH BLAH this post. It means nothing to me. No wonder your 'anonymous'... shame on you.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hear, hear Leslie! Have you noticed that those who are critical are anonymous and those with praise feel free to leave their names or identities?

    ReplyDelete
  25. m..m... It looks absolutely fantastic..

    ReplyDelete
  26. I must say that I would have expected even a couple of lines by now from Kris to say sorry there has been a problem in keeping up with the designing or that there is another problem.

I really hope there is nothing seriously wrong and it is just the stresses of family life getting in the way.

Either way though taking on the responsibility of running a monthly KAL is a responsibility when you have 500+ people following your blog with many of them waiting for the next pattern and if you can't keep up with it Kris then please let us know and we will understand.

    ReplyDelete
  27. a lot of questions, but no answers!!!very, very sad!!!!!!!!!!!

  28. Check out Kris' Twitter feed on the main page. There you will see she did apologise ~ a week ago.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Thanks for that. I don't have anything to do with Twitter so I didn't see it.

I still think, that as this blog and not Twitter is where the KAL is, there could have been a couple of lines to explain why. Like I said we would understand if we were kept in the loop.

  33. I'm so stunned by the Gucci Hobo&Backpack, My Mobile Magic. It in essential is a total twist of my diehard idea that one cann't look sporty and splendid at the same time with only one bag. How can I expect if I carry a pearl Louis Vuitton Damier Azur Porte-Trésor International on my way to the gym, or swagger with a tanned louis vuitton bag backpack to a banquet? I'm not losing my mind so I just find louis vuitton neverfull mm difficult to fulfill my greedy inner demand. You know, half of me wants more bounce whereas the other half has to be demure. Everytime I go out with some LouisVuittonSpeedy, I'm simply engaged in guilt cuz the aaa designer handbags never takes care of my semi, Alas. Now the Gucci hobo&backpack, you incredible babe, marks a brilliant turning point.

  35. Kris, if you have the time, please can you let us know whether the KAL will be continuing. I'm asking because my plan at the start point was to make each cloth and then stitch them together to make a wall hanging celebrating the year. It is now almost the end of June and we have had nothing for May or June so, as much as I would like to continue with your designs because they are gorgeous, if we are starting afresh with July then I need to find myself a May and June replacement if that makes sense.

I hope you don't have any serious problems and that it is just a finding the time issue xx

    ReplyDelete
  36. I had the same plan as Kerry and have shared this web site with people in my knitting group. They wonder what's up, I wonder what's up, and wish you and your family well, but would like to know if the KALs will be continued.

  37. I am a defender of Kris... she has gone out of her way to produce and give away some awesome patterns. I also am aware of some very rude comments some people have made...not only here but on her Ravel account. I am not surprised that she has washed her hands of this project. I do hope that eventually she will let us know if this is the case. I am about to purchase her flower cloths... which knitted in a great yarn (Knitpics!) and stitched together will make a beautiful afghan. So Thanks Kris...for the first few months of fun knitting!

  38. I just made the fudge for tomorrow. I had a bit of a sample and boy was it good. I can't wait until it's set and I get to serve it. :-)

I've also just started working on the wedding set of dishcloths. I love them! Thanks for writing up such easy patterns to follow. I look forward to purchasing more in the future and doing the KAL's. :-)

I hope you´re making fun things with them and don´t have more time to this blog, but we miss you! I used to come here every day to say beautifull pics, receits and knits.

  41. Lia, I agree with you - I came every day to check on Kris' posts (actually, I still come every day, hoping that they will start up again) I think maybe life has gotten in the way for Kris - sometimes blogs become "work" instead of fun. Thanks Kris for all you've shared - it was fun :-)

  42. Curious as to whether Kris had another web site, I did a google search and found www.krispatay.com. This same named person is from Queens NY as well. If this is the same KrisKnits, she has apparently taken her artistic talents elsewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  43. If this is the same person then it certainly explains the absence.

Whatever the reason though it is bad manners to not at least give us an explanation why we have been abandoned mid KAL. Yes I get that the nasty anonymous comments on here may be the reason but there are also 500+ followers and a lot of people concerned for her when it has been over two months since we heard anything. I did email but got no reply which is concerning.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I also did a search and I think the last Anonymous is right. If you look at her flickr account you can see that the last upload is a picture which says "custom tattoos", it was uploaded on jul. 10

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/krispatay/

I really would like to know what's going on. If she's done with the KAL it's ok but please let us now. I'll spend my time searching for other KALS
